I have been a loyal toyota owner for a while. My first was 1986 tercel financed through gmac. My second 2003 echo financed through toyota financial. My sister signed for me because i had some bad credit. I have made every payment. When hurricane katrina hit everyone deferred car payments or other payments due to the hardship. I worked for a casino and my job was lost. I relocated to montana, trying to find a job and keep up with payments. I ask for an extention in april until i got my first paycheck. Due to the lack of jobs and cut backs i ask for another extension in april because my unemployment had been late. The lady i spoke with at that time said that would put my pay off in dec. 2009.
Oringinal payoff was july 22, i said fine i understand. Because of how my checks came the payment was made a month behind starting aug. 2009 when i was laid off. I thought i made my last payment in jan. which was dec. 2009 payment, now i get phone calls saying i owe $1100.00 in interest for the 5 extension.interest is included in your payments, i made all 5 extention payment and now they want to charge me over $200 a month for interest on the extensions. 5 times $200 = $1000.00, with $100 left over. I had some hard times when i was with gmac, but was never treated the way i have been with toyota financial services, and no one can explain why i owe this interest if it was in the payments i made.
