Lie To Their Students

When my wife signed up for The College Network, our rep, Tom Tinsley, told us that if she decided that these online courses are not for her, then canceling would be "no problem". This is a LIE! We called our rep to cancel and he said "Just a heads up, but there is a 4 class minimum." Hmm... That's news to us. So he gave me a 1-800 number to call to cancel. The "academic support" informed us that we had to pay back the entire loan even if we did not do the classes... WHAT?!?!?! So someone is lying to us. Do we have to pay for it all? Do we have to pay for at least 4 classes? Can we cancel and just pay for the one class that my wife had tried to take?

After talking to the "academic support", my wife called Tom back. She told him what they said. His advice (this is hilarious): "Well just cancel the bank account that the loan is coming from and don't pay it. When the creditor's call just tell them exactly what you told me, they will understand."

HAHAHA! These are really the people representing this college.
