Titan transfer inc is a joke.
I was with titan transfer inc for almost 3 yrs. I never had a accident an was always on there safty awards board from the time i started with them. If i was running a little late i called dispatch or sent a message to them what the problem was and they always contacted me back with saying ok we will let the customer know. I replied ok thank you.
On january 12 i was on my way to the brox ny where i ran into some bad weather and early morning traffic which put me behind making my delivery to the consignee my dispatcher call me to let me know they had rescheduled my delivery time giving me some extra time to get to the consignee in hunts point, the bronx ny when i got there and went to sign in they nicely told me they where not going to take the load i would have to call my company titan transfer inc to reschedule the load for delivery which they did it was for the next morning. Titan told me i had to stay there and dont leave the customer in the state of new york there is an idling law which you can only idle for 5 mins and omg it was freezing there in low teens. I stayed there and delivered my load the next morning they had me a load to pick up the same day but it was in new jersey that load took me to bowling green ky i unloaded there on the january 15 after that they had me bobtail to shelbyville tn upon my arrival, i went into the dispatch office and i was told to go see steven thompson who was the operations manager, at this time a load planner named charles walk into the op managers office where i was with steven thompson. Thats when i was told i was being laid off they gave me a lay slip (no fired) then steven thompson said dont take the truck off the yard like i was going to steal the truck to get me home due to the fact i dint have my own car there. I had someone to pick me up at the yard.
On january 21 i signed up for my unemployment with the state of tennessee. The state of tennessee sent me a letter saying i had to call a person in nashville before february the 6 of 2009 witch i tried to contact this person at the state unemployment office in nashville, tn. When i finally reached this person, she ask me a few questions about my lay off slip she nicely told me that titan transfer didnt give or sent enough evidence to stop me from receiving my unemployment she also sent a letter to that effect. I started drawing my beneifits. I got 6 weeks into my beneifits and i received a letter again from the state stating i had a hearing that titan had requested and got steven thompson lied like a dog and said that they fired me no laid me off to the state unemployment people. To protect is millionaire boss tommy hodges and is son in law phillip edwards from paying out due to the fact tommy hodges was useing money from this company's to try to buy is way to the top seat at the ata (american trucking association). I know it is not fair to tommy hodges but he is the owner of titan transfer inc and goggin warehouse and a few other leasing companys. And supposed to be a church going person but it is not far for people who work in the state of tennessee either as tennessee is a right to work state so if the company you work for lays you off all they have to do i lie and the state will always rule in there favor.
I have to right by law to appeal and i did. Almost 3 months later i got a letter from the state of tennessee. That they were standing by there ruling and i woundnt be get any hearing for my self as i requested it to be in person. Now the state wants me to pay them back the money i got before titan transfer's hearing.
