Divine Vacations/Peabody Vacations I received a call from a sales person for Peabody Vacations Inc who sounded very professional and sweet. She was offering a GREAT vacation for a cheap price. Promising to hold the vac for $50 and the

I received a telephone call from someone with Peabody Vacations Inc 2/1/10. They wer very professional and sweet. Lots of Noise in the background that sounded like a call center but music too so it sounded like cell phone calls (which should have alerted me). The lady I spoke with offered a great vacation package first to Orlando, FL, then Coco Beach then to the Bahamas for $498 for 5. I told her I would have to talk to my husband first then could call her back. She said there couldnt be any call backs there were only 150 being offered at his rate. She gave me their web-site to see details.
She told me they had been given my details by credit card company but did not say which one nor could she reveal it to me. I told her I could not make a decision without first talking to my husband. She asked if I could call him on another line. I told her he was at work and Id talk to him after 7pm my time. She could call back then or I would just have to pass. She called back 2/2/10 and after telling her I couldnt pay the $498 she offered to hold the vacation with a deposit of $50. I was a little sceptical but agreed to the $50 deposit until I received details which they woud mail out and I had 15 days to cancel and receive a refund of my deposit. I had 18 months to book the first trip to Orlando.
Then passed to a Rob Copoer who said he was the manager. He confirmed all the details and said they would send all the information in the mail and email me a confirmation to my email address shortly. This was 4/3 in Orlando, 3/2 in Coco Beach and 4/3 in the Bahamas via Carnival Sensational Cruise -all inclusive. He told me the charge on my account would show Divine Vacations. Gave me a number of 321-972-3910 to call if I had any questions and if any of my family or friends wanted in on the same great deal.
I did not receive any email as promised and my cell phone calls me from my bank when there is a charge for over $50 on my debit card so ofcourse being that they over charged me I got a call right away. I then checked online at my account and they charged me $498 the full amount which I DID NOT agree to. I called the number back immediately and got a recording for Peabody Vacations. I left a message and continued to call until I reached someone. I go back in touch with Rob. He then assured me that the $448 would fall off after midnight and the $50 wuld be charged to my account. This is just a pending transaction. (which was true) So... I waited til this morning 2/3/10 the charge is still pending but is still $498. I then called my bank to report the charge as frauduent because it was throwing my account into the negative. They assured me that as soon as the charge changes from pending to a charge they would set up a dispute. I just didnt feel right about this after that.
I called Peabody over 30 times (not exaggerating) today and have left 4 messages for them to return the call. One time I got through and someone answered and I asked for Rob and they said I had the wrong number so I said is this Peabody Vacations and he said no, so I asked if it was Divine Vacations and he again said no. When I persisted that someone just called me from the number he hung up on me. I have since not gotten through to anyone so I googled Peabody Vacations Divine Vacations and came across this website with several problems with them. I then called my bank back to cancel my debit card (so no future charges can be made) and to tell them about the website here with all the reports about them. Again I have to wait for the charge to post to dispute it and return it on my account but atleast I know they will not charge anything else on my account.
Take this as a lesson from me - do not trust this company and listen to your gut feeling. If its too good to be true it probably is. This is not a time share company offering a presentation and a deal. It is a scam!!!
