I had my wifes vehicle towed in on Saturday January 30, to strauss auto, at Rte. 9 & Rte. 440, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095, for a battery replacement. The car, an 89Honda Civic. First of all I was the first person getting service, at the time, maybe about 10 other customers, came in after me. I waited for strauss auto for about 3 hours, just to put in 1 battery. Do you know that the 10 other customers, came in after me, and got their cars repaired and left. I figured if i complain they would make me wait longer, even though i'm a repeat customer up until this day of hell they caused me. So the bill was almost $95, they said it needed washers for the battery. Well, it took me about 10 times before the car would start. Drove it home, and i looked under the hood to find a new package of washers still in the box, which they just threw on top of the engine, still in the box. This car never ever had a hard time starting up, and with the new battery. My wife and i decided to get rid of the car because the next few times it started it took between 12 and 15 times to start. We took the battery back to strauss auto the following day January 31, to get a refund, and strauss said they can't give us a refund. I'm 52 years old and have been buying batteries since i was 17 years old. The first numbers on the battery is how many months they will replace or refund the battery for the full purchase price, at no charge, the second set of numbers is how long you have at a prorated price say for example, 12/36, which would mean 12 months full refund or replacement, and 36 months pro rated, which means they would give you so much towards the purchase of a new battery, say a battery costs $100, the longer you had it up until 36 months the less you would get, pro-rated. The battery was one day old, my wife, my mother-in-law, and myself had just gotten out of church, and had to walk into the devils pit. Please be very carefull who you people deal with, and remember, the only people who these and other businesses are afraid of are the ones wh can take away their licences to operate their business, which would involve federal and state authorities. The manager and the employee who i delt with at this perticular store was paul, and al.
