Bad customer svc after they get your money

Simplicity Gourmet has taken me. If anyone (especially brides) out there received a call about a 3 day 2 night all-inclusive vacation. HANG UP!!! I repat hang up! They will tell you all you have to do is come to a cookware presentation and then the trip is your. They dont tell you about the rest of the details until you get to the presentation.

Its not FREE you do have to pay some fee. (Your probably stating, some is not to bad) It is bad when all the trips are out of the country and you have to pay for airfare, transportation to the resort and sales tax. Also a 49.95 per person a night processing fee. Well all know that airfare out the country is going to be a good little penny.

But the reason Im sending this is because Simplicity Gourmet got one over on my fianc and I. We like everyone else thought we were going to get a great gift to start our honeymoon off since were tight for cash. We went on Saturday 12/19/09 at I believe 3PM (to the Holiday Inn Express in ATL) and there was one other couple and another came later but left before everything got started. Since there were only 2 couples we didnt get a demonstration one of the salesmen talked about the trips and had the items (cookware) setup and let us walk up and look them over ourselves. He spoke a little when my fianc had a question, but he basically let us sell the product to ourselves. We thought maybe this product would a benefit so we accepted and sat and signed some papers with the sales rep. He didnt go over the papers in detail was just excited for the sale and just had us signing. (rushing through and not explaining cancellations or small print or finacing) Which we shouldve read a little more but we were just so excited making our first purchase as an engaged couple. We were mislead and didnt really understnd the agreement and did try to call the sale rep back, but like everyone else got his voicemail and no return call. Our understanding was that it a contract like a cell phone bill we didnt realize that were getting approved for $4000 loan, if that was the case, we wouldve taken that out towards our wedding not for cookware. We also thought since my fianc make the most money and he was going to be making the payments that everything was going to be in his name. Well once the finacing company called everything changed because of his credit but instead of them calling me (since it was going to be in my name) and going over the credit plan and APR they just took his consent and ran everything in my name. Which I dont feel is right since legally were not married yet and besides if they had spoken to me and explained the 18% APR I wouldve declined, that is way to much.

Well this is where they got us, if you want to CANCEL you have 3 day or unless you live in Alaska you have 5days. (NO 30 Day guarantee money back) miss that deadline no matter what your reason are an agreement is an agreement an youre STUCK. My fianc an I didnt see that part. So they sent our product out I believe the last part of December (way pass our 3 days.) Once I tried to get a hold of simplicity everything went down hill. It took me 2 day. First day I called and the receptionist told me that the customer svc depart worked from 12pm until 9pm. Im located in ga and they are in TN, so were an hour a head of them. So that day I called at 11AM our time. She gave me the voicemail of an Ashley I left message. No return call, Waited almost whole day and called back later around I believe 6PM, still no Ashley another voicemail. Then called back the next day around 1PM my time once again voicemail. Then I tried back around 5PM, finally someone answered the phone and I asked for customer service. The lady responded this is she. I introduced myself and told her the situation and had explained that I left several messages. She stated she didnt receive them and wasnt sure why; maybe it was phone trouble. Told her couldnt have been I repeated the message verbatim to her. She was a bit shocked but by then that didnt matter I wanted to get to the point of my call. I had explained to her; my fianc hours were cut and we couldnt afford the product, so we decided we needed to cancel. We then received the product and returned it to sender and I then faxed in writing a cancel notice to the financing company. She then said did you cancel within the 3 day. I told her no we were not anticipating on canceling. This just happen and we were trying figure out how to not start our marriage out with messed up credit. She said there was nothing she could do for me we had 3 day and since its already gone through processing were going to be receiving the product back. I asked is there anyway we can make broken contract payment. (Like when you have something on your credit and they make a settlement with you) she said no Im sorry all sales final. Maybe you should just start a gift registry. I told her with the economy like this if I couldnt afford it what make you think my guess can? I said well is there anyone eles, I can speak to? Im really in bind and Im not trying to get over I want to make it better for the both of us. She stated no Im the only one. I said what about someone over you a boss, owner someone. She said no I would be it. Theyve got there money and could careless how we will be able to pay the financing company. I just feel like something can be worked out. Basically she has no sympathy and the customer is not always right.

I guess what Im trying to do is save anyone else from this mistake. Were now stuck with a 4000 loan and still have to figure out how to pay off our wedding. PLEASE if you want to still try Simplicity out make sure you know what you are doing.
