After a very trying day of attending my mother-in-law's funeral I thought I'd already had a bad enough day. With all of the expenses associated with funeral, burial, travel, ect... Money was already a concern when I stopped at the ATM to withdraw some cash.
I knew something was wrong when I saw my balance on the receipt from the machine. I checked my account online and saw a charge pending for $239.40 from Jumpline web hosting for. I couldn't imagine what. I knew I had a site that was hosted with them but $239.40? Couldn't possibly for hosting one website. I paid a 'normal' rate when I first hosted the site with them about a year before.
When I called them to see what was up and surely straighten this mistake (?) out I got a very cold, mechanical response from whoever I spoke to and was basically told that I was tricked into this payment because I had to cancel before it automatically renewed at that outrageous rate. I was never told, originally, that this would happen and. Well, $239.40 for webhosting? I may have been new to running websites but certainly not that stupid to willingly sign up to pay $239.40 to host one website!
Jumpline was recomended to host the site that I bought from Gigabit, Custom Content, they don't make it that clear (I wonder why?). I wonder if they are part of the same scam. I mean, who would recomend an unscrupulous company to provide a service to one of their customers if they were legit?
Gigabit, Custom Content sells prefab websites that are basically worthless. They cover so many topics that you could never get a good ranking with the search engines. They have no interesting content for anyone interested in any subject. They promise you will make money anywhere in the world while you sleep.
Steer clear of JUMPLINE and GIGABIT, CUSTOM CONTENT. They are both big ripoffs!
