I saw an advertisement for a Hotel Security Officer on Craigslist. It looked authentic so I responded to the reply address asking for more information. I got an instantaneous reply to my email indicating how I could apply for the position through Great Jobs Plus. I clicked on the link and it sent me to an application page where I could submit my resume and contact information.
After submitting the application, I was sent to a marketing website dealing with online education. I wasn't interested, so I exited. Shortly thereafter, I received some SPAM from the marketing website.
The next day, I also received another email indicating how I could apply for the same position through Career Staffing Now. This email looked even more authentic and was from the HR Coordinator, Barbara Fields. I figured it was a scam, so I clicked on the link she provided to compare it to my earlier experience.
