ACE Wrecker Service is a time bomb ready to explode. Hardly any of the trucks driven on the streets are legal Not to mention, the trucks are riding around with improper tags and insurance. Drivers have failed drug tests. Drivers steal out of the cars that are brought to the lot. May it also be made aware that drivers log books are not accurate or up to date. What makes it worse, is that the drivers are just doing their jobs, trying to make money when the paychecks dont bounce, but the person who runs the company... Who is well aware of the rules, fails to enforce the rules. The company is in such poor financial shape that dealer sublets can't be paid out and the drivers are rationed fuel because the fuel cards have been shut off for months from non payment. Creditors, banks and collection agents call non stop and most accounts are past due. The Vice presidents company truck was reposed from their own shop. The customers are over charged especially if they have full coverage insurance. They will take a tow that is one amount and double it if not triple it. The trucks are in terrible shape and are totally worn out. Most of the trucks there have well over 400,000 miles on them pour fluids out on the ground and need to be replaced. The workers are scared for there jobs at Ace wrecker service. The Vice President and general manager stepped down and left the company and left the company because they were tired of being lied to by the owner and being put in awkward situations. The Owner of the company took it in his own hands to hire Back the previous general manager whom has stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars and didnt pay IRS taxes and workman's comp just to name a few. Jim Haight the new gm is firing the current office staff off so that he can hire back his old staff that was just as guilty and helped steal money from the company. The dispatcher a single mother of 5 kids all of which have either a terminal diseases or are handicapped in some fashion was told that if she wouldn't change shifts she was fired and would not even have a two weeks notice.
The following company (s) are in willful violation of N.C. Gen. Stat. 97-93 by not providing this insurance and knowingly continues to operate without said insurance. A thorough investigation will reveal that the company (s) listed have not carried Workers Compensation in one year or more, and currently are not insured. A copy of this letter shall be formally filed with the N.C. Dept of Labor, and all proper agencies shall be notified. It is our request that immediate action be taken to prevent loss of benefits to employees who may become injured while performing his/her duties with the assumption the company (s) have Workers Compensation. The type of occupation the company (s) perform are extremely dangerous and employees are exposed to potentially dangerous situations on a daily basis. Failure to impose immediate action could result in numerous law suits on many levels due to having been informed of this situation. We thank you for your consideration and trust this matter will be addressed promptly. Please try to deal with this in such a way the employees will not be retaliated on.

Rick, I recommend that you explain to Ray the importance of obtaining this required Workers Comp policy. Jim Vermillion and I have both tried to convince Ray that coverage cannot be delayed and we are not responsible for Rays decision not to provide this coverage. Ray told me that you said that we can obtain this coverage at a later date. I told Ray that you had told me just the opposite and that we must pay the premium immediately.
