My disabled daughter was flimflammed into signing a contract for a Kirby Vacuum cleaner by 3-4 salespeople who came to her door. She just now told me that she has been paying $53.68 a month for over a year and still owes for 2 years more. She was not aware of the interest rate even though it was on the paper that she signed. This is unconscionable. Freedom Enterprises sold the 'contract' to United Consumer Financial Services of Louisville, KY. I have warned her to not let anyone in the house, but she doesn't think clearly and in fact, was hospitalized the same month of the 'sale'. 1) $1400 for a vacuum cleaner is ridiculous. It was shown as $2395 retail. (Big Bargain!) 2) No company should send multiple sales people to a house and 'gang' up on an individual. 3) No legitimate company would scam anyone into paying 22.29% interest over a 3 year period.
