United Family Circulation
Using 17 year old children to ripoff people

What a Crock - Me thinks Thou Dost Protest Too Much Sharon! An hour ago I closed the door on a 17 year old girl who almost conned me out of a lot of money ($60) claiming she lived down the block (sound familiar), maybe I knew her mom (you know the one that walks the yellow lab?) and she is #2 on her fast-pitch softball team (I throw 94 miles an hour). Well, lo and behold, her team (local) won their regional competition and "guess where the finals are?"

I honestly said, "Hawaii" and she said, "Yup! Maui." But when I asked if she went to the local highschool (the one she would go to if she lived where she said she did) she said, "No, I was home schooled" by her mother and they had just moved to the area six months before. Hhhhmmmmmm? Have you heard this, or bits and pieces of it before?

Well, when I finally let my "crap detector" take over, I asked for a phone number, which she gave but stumbled over it in giving it to me, I asked if her mom would be home, and she haltingly offered that she was at the beauty salon and when I rang the number right in front of her I asked if she had voice mail and she said she thought so. When an automated answering voice (like ones using cell phones) came on ("That extension, 7113, is not answering, leave a message at the tone.") I concluded this was a scam. I told her that I'd stop by the address she claimed to be living at and if it was all correct I'd donate to her cause.

She (incredulously) started getting very huffy with me saying, "Sheesh I'm just 17 and you're making me feel bad by calling me a liar." I said I'll stop by and if all is ok we'll go from there. Well, after I got done I checked on the web and found my way here. I feel like I just joined AA when I began reading all the similar scam stories with many similar elements to the scam the girl perpetrated for me an hour ago.

I did get from her the name of the company to whom to make out the check and it was "United Family Circulation" as so many have reported here. What really got me boiling was reading Sharon's pathetic responses claiming Holy intervention on behalf of her poor impugned company, who is sinless as Jesus. Please.

Tell me this sharon: when I ask Google for links related to "United Family Circulation" why can't I find a web site? You don't have one? Yea right! What legitimate, reputable company today doesn't have one. And the easiest defense to disreputable business practices is "dissociation" wherein principals claim that all (not just some) acts by independent contractors (i.E., 17 year old girls) that may have been deceptive or even illegal are no part of the "business" and are not encouraged. Yea right! I did just drop off the turnip truck this morning, thank you. And by the way, I did stop by the address the girl gave me and the startled retirement aged woman that answered the door looked at me like I had a horn coming out of my forehead when I asked if she had a 17 year old daughter and if she had just moved here from Ohio.

Needless to say, I challenge Sharon or any of the other "business" principals at UFC to go to the authorities and press charges against any of us making these claims, cmon I dare you! And the next time you feel the urge to reference religious figures in your defense of your defense-less business, why not try "Satan" who is far better suited to explain your practices, something about a "wolf in sheeps clothing."

But UFC did help me learn something today; that is that history constantly repeats itself and that misguided and dishonest companies have a plethora of misguided and dishonest targets just lining up to learn the wiley ways of dishonesty "corporate" style. I had almost forgotten that UFC, so thanks for bringing me back to the real world.

Warm regards.
