I own a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier with a 5-speed manual transmission. It had 49,000 miles on it when the clutch hose wore out. It wore out because the car is designed in such a way that the hose rubs up against a piece of metal in the engine resulting in a hose being worn into the hose. A new hose costs $103.82. The hose can give out at any time crippling the car and leaving you stranded (this is what happened to me!). GM is aware of this issue and has not done anything to resolve it except to reinforce new clutch hoses. They will all wear out eventually.
