I received a letter on 11/21/09 indicating that my Master Card Pearl card would be closed in 30 days for undisclosed reasons. I am gainfully employed at a law firm, have never missed a payment and have been a customer for three years. I have not even gone over the limit, ever. The individual I spoke with in customer service was rude and said that she could not disclose any details. I paid my balance and closed my card instantly. I am fortunate that I could do so as to do this without warning is not the proper way of doing business. My guess is that the card is closing the accounts of customers with low balances because they can not continue to rip them off with high interest rate charges, overlimite fees and rate hikes. I hope this company goes bankrupt.
