I called the Guitar Center in Greensboro NC to see if they had a pedal my husband had asked for, for christmas... The first guy said its out of stock but the trucks here and im sure theres one on it, call back in a little while. The second guy, Chuck said oh yes we have the pedal but I cant find a power supply for it. Call back. The third call netted Chuck again, who said the same as the second call but he could order it. While I was on phone Chuck took all my info and placed my order. Forgetting to give me my total I called back and he promptly gave it to me, as I had paid extra shipping to ensure a pre christmas delivery. Two days later my package arrived.inside was the WRONG PEDAL. The amount charged to my card was even different it was less. Mind u this is two days before christmas now. I called the GuitarCenter.com number and explained the problem, they immediately threw Chuck under the bus, by saying he ordered the wrong pedal. Not so. The amount charged to my card was correct for the extra shipping and correct pedal. They acted as though they could not have cared less. Telling me I could order the correct pedal again and have it overnighted. But then I would have tied up over 400.00, until I was refunded in 5-7 business days. Less the restocking fee. Riggghhhtt. So I called the Greensboro store, and was told there was nothing they could to but they sure were sorry... At this point nice wasnt gonna cut it. I explained that this was the first time I had ordered from them and it would definately be the last. Needless to say I got nowhere by speaking to the store mgr Steve today... He stated that people do make mistakes, and we should open the pedal we got and maybe we would like it instead... ITS NOT WHAT WE ORDERED! My god what idiots... We then proceeded to call the maker of the pedal Seymour Duncan, who couldn't have been nicer... They are now sending me the pedal I orig. Ordered without having to re buy it, along with a return label to return the screw up from GC. Thats a company who stands behind its products. Its sad that a Manufacturer has to correct a problem, that a bunch of IDIOTS, who are supposedly a world wide retailer, caused. I do not recommend buying anything from Guitar Center, if you do buy a blindfold and a jar of Vaseline first.
