Since this pipe was not on backorder and was shipped, there was no contact established. Only one pipe was ordered and not the pipe set. We apologize for any confusion. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to reply to us.

What about backorders?
The items offered for sale on our site should be in stock, but if we make a mistake and do not have the item in stock, we will contact you. Please be sure that you have given us your correct phone number and e-mail address in the appropriate places on the order form. We will let you know the expected arrival date of the item you want or we will suggest an alternative if that item is no longer available.
THIS IS WHERE THOMPONS HAS FAILED, I WAS NEVER CONTACTED, as one can tell from all these e-mails

Dear Mr Hedrick,
Thank you for your email. Thompson does not ship out partial portions of a set, but would send it out in full. However, your order was for only one pipe. Please note that originally there was an offer for a set with 2 pipes that was on that page. However, that item was removed as well as the other pipe. The only remaining item was the single pipe that you ordered. Since you ordered just the single pipe as that was the only item on that page (as we removed the set since it was no longer available), you were sent just the single pipe. The pipe set was just under $60 and not the $39 paid for the single pipe. If you wish, you may return the pipe. We apologize for any confusion. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to reply to us.

Then I am correct. Thompson's policy is: To charge the full price for partial shipments - due to out of stock items -
I can also assume, though not notified, the tobacco pouch is out of stock.
Bottom line: 1) I ordered 2 pipes and 1 tobacco pouch
2) Only 1 pipe was in stock
3) Thompson recieves full price and ship partial orders
I am now interested in how many other items on Thompson's web page are "OUT OF STOCK"

I am attempting to cut and paste a copy of the advertisment from which I ordered. I hope you can now see my confusion. I suggest, at a minium, to remove these items from your online ordering.

I have not recieved a response to my question or concern. The set is still advertised. I expected either a notification of "out of stock" or the remaining items are back ordered. I can only assume Thompson's policy is to demand full pay for partial or out of stock orders.
