I wrote checks in 2008 they sold i owe them $666.00 for these check i went to the bank got them i only owe them $208. Oo i paided them $300.00 but i owe for the rest what can i do? Rephen law firm new want me to pay more

I wrote checks in 2008 the total were $208.00 rephen law firm said I owe them $668.00 for these check i went to my bank to get those 3 checks i sent them a money gram for $300.00 kept my receipt. Mrs. Lawson said if I didnt pay the remainer they would take me to court dont want that what should i do? I have been looking on the internet about this company some people said they are rip off and not a law firm tell me what to do
