I have heard many many stories about Walmart firing employees for senseless reasons. After 90 days the fired employee can re-apply as a new hire & start over at the bottom. That way Walmart does not have to pay wage increases or benefits.
My son had told me a friend of his had been told by a manager to watch his step. Walmart (at this location) needed to get rid of 25 full time employees.
Tuesday my son (he has a clean record) went to work at Walmart. His fiance lives with us & works there as well. Both are full-time workers. She also was on the job. They went on break together which I have been told they have been doing so for years. She was there almost 6 years. He over 3. Her record had a blot on it for an untidy station 1 time. They fired her. It was shock & awe time. My son was so upset he clocked out but was told he was being given some sort of day off to "think about it". They were scheduled off on Thursday.
My son dressed, went to work today (Friday) & his badge did not work. Even though he had nothing against him until this they really according to my son did not give him a reason. They said give us your badge & discount card. You're fired!
Now both are out a job & I am on disability. This is so stressful! I cannot understand how Walmart can do employees so dirty. My son also attends ITT Tech & they both worked in electronics so they know their stuff about electronics. They are no slouches either. They both planned when they graduate to marry & find better jobs but not ready for at least a year to start looking or qualify for better jobs.
Can anything be done about this?
