Likes to play games and rip off people. I got my refund owed to me in a week after filing a complaint with the BBB, the FTC, and my states Attorney General

I cancelled my account on July 18 with DirecTV and did not break any contract with them. I had service with them for over two years and the contract I had with them was for only a year. I cancelled with them because of the poor service call I had from one of their techs on May 2. He broke one of our TV's and said that he owed me a TV. He also hooked up my VCR to the new receiver wrong so we couldn't record. Then we had to wait a week and a half to have another tech come out and hook it up correctly. I filed a damage claim for the TV, and first they just wanted a picture of the damage and they they said that I would have to take the TV in and get an estimate for the repair or to replace it. I had paid extra for any damages by their techs, but they wouldn't go ahead & pay for it without my having to haul my TV somewhere and pay for an estimate. I told their damage claim dept that maybe I shouldn't do business with them anymore. Then I got a marketing call for free movies sometime after that, so I told them to remove me from their marketing calls. They said that it would take 2-3 weeks. Then I started receiving calls again 2-3 weeks again. I received one call on June 12th, June 19th, June 20th, and two calls on June 21st. I called in on June 20th to be removed again as well as punching the number on their automated calls to be removed. Then I contacted the FCC two different times, but they said that they didn't do anything wrong, even with pictures of my caller ID showing the dates & times that I had told then that they had been calling me. Then DirecTV sent me a statement in the mail showing that I had a credit of $66.95, because I had cancelled four days after I had paid the last bill from them. I called them on August 11 about the credit & Barbara in their billing dept told me that they would put the credit either on my card or in a check. I said that I wanted it on my card. She said that it would be 10-14 business days. I called DirecTV on August 28 about the credit, because it wasn't on my card yet. I was told that I would have to wait. I emailed customer service on DirecTV's website that same day and they emailed me back and said that it takes 6-8 weeks from the date of the last financial transaction to process refunds by check. I told them that I was supposed to get it back on my card, but they said that they only process refunds by check. I was told one thing and then told something totally different. They like to play games with current as well as past customers. These people should be put out of business for the way they treat people like me.

I filed a complaint with the BBB, the FTC, on August 28th, and my states Attorney General on August 30th, and I got my refund back on my card in one week after filing complaints with the places I mentioned above. I saw here that someone recommeded that people should do that & I'm here to say that it really helped me out in getting it back a lot sooner than what I was told it would take by DirecTV. I only hope that more people would follow the same route that I did so maybe something can be done about businesses like DirecTV ripping off innocent people like me (I'm a single mom like others out there too).
