(1) RATE SWITCHING: contracted at 7 cents a minute was switched to $4 a minute;excessive billing of appr $2500 sent to collection when refused to pay over our contracted amount.
Disconnected our service via letter then 90 days later without our authorization set up individual accounts on our 3 phone lines using 3 accounts; never contracted for; charges for monthly service on each over $27. X 3 refused to pay as no service was given as long distance was blocked by MCI and confirmed by Bell south and MCI however now sending me to collection after about 9 hours a week on phone.
Multiple operators have to tell story over and over and get transfered to someone else with no one handling it. Send me to collection. Sending wrongful billing and sending fraud bill statments is a federal mail fraud offense so i am filing federal charges. MCI established accounts without us authorizing a contract which is illegal. They have ruined my perfect credit. I had a 5 year no problem relationship with them until 2002 when I took them off automatic payment after an irs audit revealed they had excessively billed in appr. $2500. The collection notices have made it damaging to be refinancing my home.
They are impossible to communicate with. No result are produced after a 15 page legal letter;calls 3 times a week on the phone for as long as 3 hours. They cancelled my phone long distance without telling me for 4 months while we were gone so our alarm system was not even working without our knowing it.
The treatment of us, even after 5 years of perfect service, is outrageous. I suggested anyone considering MCI as a long distance carrier to do serious research on other customers grief.
