I had done a move with Neighbors Moving and Storage on June 20 from Lowell, MA to Nashua, NH. This was a local move with distance of around 15 miles.
On the phone I was given a quote of $74 per hour by one of their employees Andrew Bunting with 3 hr minimum (2 hrs for move 1 hr). However, on the day of the actual move, I was charged $95 per hour rate and was threatened to cancel the move if I did not pay up. This is pure fraud and blackmailing in my opinion.
I contacted the company after the move and the answer I got was that Andrew Bunting does not work for Neighbors Moving and Storage anymore so they cannot do anything. This is rather lame. Why should I pay up extra if one of their employees quit?
I believe I was overcharged $21 per hour extra which equates to $63 for 3 hr move.
The reason why I was given a quote of $74 per hour was to just get my business.
This was a cool trick played by the company - give a fake quote, get business and then on the day of the move threaten to pay up extra.
