Two teenagers approached my house back in March selling magazines for Palmetto Marketing Inc. They said they were trying to win a trip to Cancun for spring break. They also said they were working in teams, and if magazines were purchase, I would have to buy one from each of them.
I said no on two occasions in the conversation with them, but they kept pushing for me to buy. Finally I caved and agreed to buy a magazine from both of them.
That was back in March, and this is now June. I have not received even one issue of either magazine, and they got me for $90.
At one point the company had a website because I was on it. However, you couldn't do anything over the net, every cancellation had to be sent in or faxed over. Now, the website doesn't appear to exist anymore.
Someone apparently has a really good scam going on out there. These kids use the same line about being so close to winning the trip. They not only got me, but attempted to get friends of mine across town as well.
Be on the lookout for anyone associated with Palmetto Marketing Inc and don't buy into their scam.
I hope this report is able to help someone else stay away from getting ripped off.
