I called this company to get a quote over the phone to service my AC units for my house. When I called I spoke with Laurie, I told her that I had two AC units and would like to get them serviced. She then said we have a two year agreement for $429 and a one year agreement for $129. She also stated that they have a tune up price for two units at $89 and $79 for one unit. The one year agreement sounded good to me because they do a service check twice a year (summer & winter). As she was giving me these prices I was writing them down on a pad of paper. I thought the one year agreement was a pretty good deal, so I scheduled an appointment for July 20th after 3:00pm.
Well when Raymond the tech showed up I pointed him in the direction of my AC units. It took him about 30 minutes to complete the job. Then he hands me the invoice, and the total reads $229, so I say wait a minute, I was quoted $129 by Laurie over the phone. I then showed him my pad of paper with the quotes from Laurie that I had wrote down. He said I'm sorry 2 units are $229. So I got on the phone and called Rick the manager of HOUK air. He would not budge an inch, even tho they made the mistake of giving me a $129 quote for a one year service agreement. So I told him that if you are not going to budge on the cost then I will never use your company again. So I wrote Raymond a check for $229. If I would have been quoted $229 for the contract I would not have scheduled an appointment, because that's to much for a 30 minute inspection.
