I am having trouble staying up with my mortgage payments and I was looking for help. I was contacted by Velahos Law Firm. They said they could help me and that the cost will be $2000.00 Dollars. I agreed to this because I am deperate for help. I set up arrangements with them to take $500.00 every two weeks when I get pais. I was then contacted again by Velahos Law Firm and they explained to me that they needed my checking account information so the bankks could see the making the payment was being done. The money was not to come out until I got paid on Friday the 3rd of July. Well, they took the money out the very next day. Because of this I was overdrawn on my account and it caused me numerous amounts of NSF charges. When I contacted them, they said that they had to look into it. I gave them one day and called them again. All I kept being told was they would give me the money back. I called many more times to get the information about the money I was to get back, I was told that they were sending a check to me this past tuesday. I was contacted by email about supposedly getting a check in the mail yet again and it is now Saturday. No check. Still screwed. I will not give this company any more money. They will not get my new account information. I also asked if there was any information on my modification and they told me yes. I then call my mortgage company and the only thing they told me the only thing that they this law firm had done was to contact them and let them know they have permission to talk to my mortgage company about my loan. When I called my supposed magistrate, the one who is supposed to be working for me, I left a message for the second time and yet to hear back from him. This is ridiculous. Because of the NSF charges when I finally got paid, I had to money in my account because I had to cover these charges. I have had no money and will not until the next trime I get paid. Thank God these people do not have my new account number.
