Precision Tune Auto Care
Deceptive, Poor Customer Service, Scandalist from the local store to the corporate office

Went to Precision Tune (1210 Watson, Blvd, Warner Robins, GA) today 7/1/09 and got the oil change package for $19.90. I have a 2006 HHR that I have only had for one year. I was there for an hour and half (typical) before getting my car back. Then I drove less than 5 mins from the shop to the grocery store and my car cuts off on me. As I was driving away from precision tune, the car kept jerking every time it changed gears. This has never happen before while getting an oil change. When I pull into the Piggly Wiggly parking lot (grocery store), the car cuts off on me. After some people pushed, my car out of the middle of the road there was a puddle of oil where my car cut off. I called and spoke with Bobby Doolittle the manager and asked him to send someone out to look at my car considering my car was fine when I brought it in. He proceeded to say that he could not send anyone out and that I would need to bring the car back to the shop. My car will not crank so that meant the car needed to be towed. He stated that if it was the shop fault that they would pay for the tow but if not that I would have to pay for the tow. He hung up on me and the receptionist hung up on me. I called back a third time and I told the receptionist not to hang up on me again and that I need to speak with the manager. He finally came to the phone but nothing was settled. I called my insurance b/c I have roadside assistance and got the car towed to the shop. He then asked to speak to me outside. My friend that was with me informed him that I had come there for an oil change and now my car will not crank and the problem needed to be fix. The conversation went on for a little bit and I ask for the owners name (Dennis Crestwood) and receptionist name (Betty). He checked the car out and there was a LITTLE BIT of oil left in the filter. He did not think it was a big deal he was trying to prove to me that it had nothing to do with the car not cranking up. He showed me a sensor showing that the sensor for the crankshaft (I think that is what it is call) is the reason the car would not crank up. He felt the neglect on their part to plug the filter after the oil change had nothing to do with the crank sensor. I asked him to fix it and to refund me back for the oil change. He proceeds to say that they had nothing to do with the sensor and that b/c the sensor had not been changed after 60 thousand mile that was the case for the car not cranking. The car has 66 thousand miles on it... I have had the car year n half, and the car was running fine when I brought the car into the shop... The oil leaking out of the car had something to do with the car not cranking back up. After talking to his boss, they agree to fix the problem but the manager was not willing to fix the problem tonight. Which is fine, but he attitude was it takes 2-3days for the parts to arrive. Understand but show that you are willing to do whatever you have to too make your customer happy. There is a possibility that b/c you didn't plug the oil filter after you flush and changed the oil that it caused another problem in the car. I even asked if he would make my car first priority. He said that he would come in at 8:00AM tomorrow morning call the different part shop to see if they have the part. I will not recommend anyone to Precision Tune. They say one apple spoils the bunch and this one did it. I plan to report this company to the BBB also to our local Chamber of Commerce and all of the elite people that I know. Customer Service is the key... Owning up that you made a mistake and you are willing to fix the problem is good customer service. This manager could have cared less. The police was called out and I was told that if the car is not fixed that I could file a civil suit. Who would have thought that a simple oil change would turn into a nightmare?
Not done, so today 7/2/09 I called Five Star Chevrolet, spoke with the service advisor Steve, and was told that the mileage on my car has nothing to do with the sensor they are claiming was causing my car to not crank. He gave me a number to the towing company and I had the car towed to Five Star Chevrolet. When the Steve turns the key in the ignition automatically, he says that your engine locked up. He calls Rocky at Precision Tune and explains what had happen. Rocky with an attitude tells Steve that they have video showing that they put oil in the car. Duh! You forgot to plug the oil filter the first time and after I bring my car back, you raise the car up, plug the filter, lower the car, and then put more oil in the car. I then received a call from the corporate office customer service only to get the person who does not normally handle customer complaint his name was Daryl. He took down my information and state that one of the district managers would give me a phone call. A couple of minutes later Rocky (manager from PT) calls an offers to have the repairs done on my car only if I brought the car back to their shop but would not reimburse me if I had another company do the repairs. Do they really think that I am going to let someone who cannot do a simple oil change work on the engine of my car. Oh and here is the great partthe district manager just happen to be the owner of the company that I had spoken with yesterday Doug Crestwell how bias was this. He stated the same information that Rocky the manager at the store that he owns told me right before he call. He said that I could not file a insurance claim with the company that I had to go through my insurance to file a claim. So I called my insurance company and this is where I am at now. I had to go get a rental car so I can get back and forth to work so frustrating. I have kept track of when I called the corporate office, when I spoke with Darryl the non-customer service rep at Precision Tune Corporate Office, Rocky at the local Precision Tune, and the Owner/District Manager of Precision Tune in Warner Robins, Ga, and every receipt/bill. I also have pictures of the dipstick showing that it registered no oil, pictures of the oil puddle that was underneath my car, and witnesses who are willing to go to bat for me if needed.
