American Energy Solutions contracted with Sales Representatives in Connecticut to sell "fixed price" contracts for electricity. Through improper training and/or poor internal controls, the representatives claimed these contract would perform in ways that proved to be untrue. Among other things, they offered "all-in" pricing and guaranteed savings over the local utility. Neither turned out to be the case, and, as a result, we are stuck in five year contracts that are costing us significantly more money that we would have spent had we not done business with American Energy Solutions in the first place.
