On March 27th I submitted to work a promotional event through Laura's Events. It was the grand opening of the new Equinox Fitness center on Oak Lawn in Dallas. I worked the entire event and was told I would be paid in 3 weeks.
I was asked the following week to send my address so they could mail me a check. I emailed my address on April 7th. Then I patiently waited.
I followed up on May 4th since it had been over a month since the event took place and I still hadn't received a check I emailed her directly, never received a response. So I emailed again on May 6th to make sure she got my email. No response.
So I called her cell thinking phone communication would be a quicker response. It went to voicemail so I left her a nice message restating everything and asking to hear back. She never called back.
I emailed her again on May 13. No response. Called again. No response. Emailed again on 14th and 16th, NO RESPONSE! And I know for a fact it's not just me, she employed about 13 people to work that event, models, actors, caterers, etc... She didn't pay ANY of them. And some she hasn't paid for Mulitple events. It is now June 4th and I still cant get a response, so maybe this will jar one.
