Safeco Lloys Insurance Company/consumer's Promotional Draw For Both American And Canadian Customers SCAM! It is too good to be true

I received an authentic looking check in the mail today for the amount of $4987.00.

Inclosed was a letter claiming I won an annual Consumer's PROMOTIONAL DRAW, organized for both American and Canadian customers of the following major retailers e.G. Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, Macy's, Home Depot, Zellers etc.

I was to contact the clam agent, Grace Willows 778-317-0492. No one ever answered the phone... No suprizes there. I also called the Senior Financial Executive listed at the bottom of the letter, Michael Howard 778-881-0246.

I researched the address and discovered the address doesn't exist. I then called Northern Trust Company (the bank the check was issued through) they confirmed it was a scam and no such account existed.

Northern Trust Company fraud department told me that folks are depositing these checks and then wire the so called "tax amount" to the tax agent (mine being kimberly maxwell address: 7126 Gorge Rd., Halifax, Canada as also indicated on my letter). After you wire them the money you'll discover the check bounced and then your liable for the money owed to the bank.
