A tall handsome young man came to the backyard fence in Boulder, Colorado, where I was visiting with my ten-year-old grandson.
He immediately began his well-rehearsed sales pitch. He said that he, a soccer player and champion, was working to earn points for his scholarship and only needed to sell four more books for children in Denver Children's Hospital.
I asked questions regarding the books and the amount of money he wanted: $200.00, but he hurried through his speech, did not fully answer, was in a hurry to finish. He conned me, big time.
I am dismayed and disappointed. Such is life, I have been told, but I would like my money back.
