Friday I received a call from a woman claiming to be from a collection agency with Check Resolution Services Inc. She said I had till the end of the day there time (which was 3pm) to contact these people and pay off a check of mine that had bounced 2 years ago. I got a PDL (pay day loan) so I could move, and some crazy stuff happend with my back account while moving so I shut down my account.
The woman who left the message told me to contact these people, and pay the loan or I would be issued with a warrent for my arrest at the end of the day. Well I was worried since I am almost 9months pregnant and I know they will put me in jail, baby or not! I called and Was put in touch with a man named Tony Lewis. He said I needed to pay it that day, by credit or debit card. I dont have either. Nor do I have a bank acount were I can give him my information to take money out of it. He told me I could send it Via Money Graham and gave me all his information... BUT befor he did that, he told me he would need to talk to his boss and find out if they could cancle the issued warrent for the end of the day!
This all seemed a little bogus to me but I told him I could have the money graham in the mail by 2pm the next buisness day (which was this last monday)
On monday my husband was up at our local Check Cashing place getting the money order ready, when he called and asked for the address. Since i didnt want to call the company and ask them I looked it up online, and thats when I found alot of people talking about CRS, Inc. And FRUAD! I did a little research and decided NOT to send the money order just yet. Well this guy called me again today (FROM A WITHHELD number) and Told me I had to call him back today and pay this or he would send out the paper work for my warrent tomorrow at 3pm. FOR some reason this all seems a little strange and I dont think its legal. I am contacting my local authorities to see if there is any thing that i can do to keep them off my back. I have no problem paying off my dept, but I dont need to be harrassed or threatend with jail time.
