This tenant moved into a condo that I owned in the middle of Dec. From the very beginning she complained about everything, and though I tried to resolve her issues, she put up road blocks to allowing me to do it. I got a property manager involved, and she wouldn't talk to her or let her access the property. She said there were mice, but wouldn't let anyone enter the premises to investigate. She left in Feb without paying the rent for that month. I am suing her for the balance of the lease, but now she is requesting $26,000 for not returning her deposit (which went towards the rent that she left without paying).
Most of the money is to pay her attorney ($12,000), and some of it is for cleaning supplies, repairs to her car, heaters etc. I made the mistake of not contacting her prior landlord before renting to her. I imagine that others have had problems with her as well. If she tries to rent from you... Do not rent to her. It will only cause problems and heartache. She has a personality disorder and will threaten to sue you too! She needs to get a life, but unfortunately, is too narcissistic to bond with anyone else aside from herself. Once again... Do not rent to this person, or you'll be sorry that you did!
