If you are reading this then you are either making a better decision than I did by researching this company or its too late and you are finding out the hard way.
Im not going to talk about how its a pyramid scheme or how its doo-to-door sales because you can read the other comments about Cydcor for that. Im going to tell you the real shady stuff that I unfortunately delt with for far too long!
First off, let me say that NO BUSINESS OWNERS WANT YOU TO COME IN WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT! Second, if they have experienced a visit from one of the reps then they know the scam and will tell you to, " GET THE HELL OUT NOW!"
On that note, let me explain how it works. You are given a map of a certain "territory" which is just a copy of a Rand McNally map! Then told to go visit customers that need our help.
How do you know who that is you ask? You dont! You have to go to every single business on that map and ask them if its ok to look at their phone bill or call the billing department which happens to be another company that also in NOT AT&T!!!
If you are lucky enough to find a customer who is willing to give you permission or just allows you to "tell them what you are going to do, " then you might have a chance to make a sale! Then comes the fun part!
If the customer "can be helped" you have to ADD something to their account. Maybe its a new line, new long distance plan, new internet (or a 2nd or 3rd internet) or some other "feature" that just happens to be part of a "bundle package."
You then have to let the customer know that its "NOT A BIG DEAL, and that YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF IT." You then do the normal sale stuff and fill out a bunch of paperwork and call in the order. The fun part about that is making sure the customer doesnt ask to read the fine print because it states that, " THE SALES REP IS NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF AT&T!" Surprise!!!
So then you finish up and you are feeling good about making the sale! You get pretty good and you make about $800 in sales! Not bad huh!? Well guess what? You "should expect to get around $200 rejected, " for no apparent reason on your check! This has happened to me more times then I care to talk about! Ive brought home checks for less than $200!! After 53 hours of work in a week thats about $3.80/hr!!!
So if thats not make you mad, come to find out, the Asst. Manager and Manager have been putting your rejects in their names and getting paid for it! I HAVE THE PROOF ON PAPER!
Furthermore, you will be talked down to, talked about if you arent doing exactly what they ask, and treated like a child! Dont let me forget about the "FEW LITTLE EXTRAS, " you MUST do in order to make it in this "business." Set up conference calls, run workshops, train, interview, do roll-call, run meeting, etc, etc! Sounds okay right!? YOU DONT GET PAID TO DO THIS! But in order to get promoted you have to!
So if you want to go see 60 business a day just to make 2 that might only put $10 in your pocket, then by all means, go right ahead! Before I go I would just like to thanks Steve Kordella and Mike Peragine for opening my eyes to what we all like to say this is not, " JUST A BIG PYRAMID SCAM!"
