I took my 2001 Pontiac Aztec truck to Pep Boys on 3-25-09 because I needed some brakes. I just got off work 7am that morning of 3-25-09 after being at work since the day before at 3pm (3-24-09). Got my truck to Pep Boys advised them I needed brakes on the front of my truck and I bought new tires cause it was time for new tires. The mechanic advised me I had a leak in the Rack Pinion said I needed callibers break pads and shoes (front & back) rotors and tire rod. Totaling over $1500.00. I thought to myself I can't afford to buy another car and I didn't have that much money to pay for all of that so I applied for one of there Pep Boys charge cards and use it to pay the remaining balance of what I didn't have in cash. Well, The next day after bring the truck home I was on my way back to work and as I was driving my breaks would just lock up and make this screeching sound 'I was so Petrified' I could have hit someone or someome could have hit me. I immediately took truck back to Pep Boys they said they didn't see any problems they stated to me they test drove it and nothign happened and that it was OK to come get my truck. I advised him I am concerned for my and other people safety stated nothing was found to be wrong with vehichle this was on 3-27-09. So I got truck went home. I am off on weekends so my family was over on 3-28-09 and my son-n-law went to the store and he came home said mom the truck just stop moving while I was driving and it made an awful noise. My sister was at my house and she knows a lot about cars and trucks. She advsed me to call and have Pep boys to have to truck towed caused the truck is not safe to drive they need to pick up towwing bill. My sister then took over from there. She went to Pep Boys the next day 3-30-09 spoke with Otis he said that no problem was discoverd my sister test drove the truck advised them of a whoop sound on the front passenger side she advised them to fix the problem and call her to do another test drive. They called my sister back she then delt with Sam he test drove truck while she was in the truck he stated he heard the sound and blew it off stating it is possibly the 4 wheel drive that she heard. My sister then advised me if any problems to let her know. LOW & BEHOLD my truck did the same thing on my way to work it did it 3 times I was trembling so bad I pulled over and called my sister she came and got the truck and took to a rival of Pep Boys they looked at the truck and stated the parts that Pep Boys put on the truck wasn't what was wrong with the truck from the begining they advised the breaks kept locking up due to needed rear drums pad and or shoes. Mind you I paid for this at Pep Boys. The rival of Pep Boys stated will give estimate to me to give to Pep Boys for refund of some of the money that was spent. Oh another note as my sister and I went over the reciept Pep Boys had me to pay hundreds of dollars for some of these warranties on these parts that was not needed to fix my truck. A cash Refund is warranted if not futher action will be taken against Pep Boys... They are a disgrace to the Automotive (Mechanics) Industry. This is why I am Petrified of Pep Boys!!!
