Failure to assist residents who are towed away due to Central Parks' poor parking availability

My car was towed away from Central Park where I live. It happened Monday night or early Tuesday morning on the week of 03/23. Since there were no parkings left in the apartments when my 7month old and I arrived home around 10:30 pm 03/23/09 Monday night, I was towed after we had to park in a small space labeled tow away. It was the only space available and I had already waited an hour parked behind another vehicle to wait until someone left, but no one left. I had to pay $191.39 the next day, Tuesday, to get my SUV out of the towing company's holding grounds.

When I went to the leasing office with my 7 month old son the morning after I was towed, and told my apartments' Manager, Maribel Garza, she was everything but nice and helpful about it. She told me that she wasn't going to call the towing company to ask them to release my car and that the apartments have a contract with the towing company and they will not release my car. I asked her if she could please call them and let them know I am a resident and there was no where else to park that night when my baby and I arrived home. She still bluntly refused to call them and never acknowledged the complex's poor parking availability. She didnt even offer to give me the towing company's number.

When I told Maribel that I would not leave the leasing office with my 7 month old in my hands until she called them to give me my car, she called the Police on me and the baby and the Westchase Policeman came in to make me and the baby leave the leasing office. I explained to the Policeman that as a resident, I should have a right to sit in the office and wait until the Mnagaer takes resposibility for what happened to my car, Especially seeing that they offer an internet cafe and pool table lounge in the office quarters. The Policeman became more stern and louder with me and advised me to leave or threatened to take me to jail and put my 7 month old son in Child Protective Services!

I had to leave with my son and wait for family to take me to get my car out of the towing grounds of Spring Branch Towing located at 10400 Southwest Plaza Houston, Tx 77074. (713) 988-7600. Central Parks' manager, Mribel Garza never offered any help or concern for me&a resident who has always paid my rent on time every month of my entire lease. The Clerk at the towing agency offer more concern about what happened than my own complex manager Maribel Garza.

Overall, I was in disbelief at how I was treated as a paying tenant of the complex and that is why I am writing this story. So if there is anything that can be done to make sure this kind of treatment and disregard never happens again to anyone else, please do so.
