It could could have been a God send, my husband had just been laid off, I had just had to take a cut back in pay, and we had used most of our saving to help our daughters out of some bad times they had been having before all this happened!
Then I receive final winning notification and a check for $4,998.00!! I had won a quarter of a million dollars for shopping at WalMart during their shoppers sweepstakes give away! Oh how great the relief was, to know that we were not going to be in dire straits after all!
Then my brain kicked in and my husband and I looked at each other and started laughing. Got on the internet and looked these people up; only to find they were rip off artist! It was good for laugh and it also helped us see that we were not nearly as bad off as we were afraid we were. But, how many people have actually followed through with this and lost more money that they couldn't afford to because of these people? That is what needs to be stopped! People like this must get a real kick out of preying on desprate people during this time of hardship. I would like to see them caught, shut down, and jailed!
I feel bad for those who have lost money, possibly what remained of their savings because they took these people at their word. Places like WalMart, JC Penny, or any of the other companies that are being used to promote this fraud, should also go after them. You don't really expect that these companies would have a shoppers sweepstakes and then lie about it, but when they aren't really part of the scam, it makes it even worse for those companies because those who believed the scam, now feel betrayed by the companies that they trusted to shop at.
Me, well, I'm going to frame the check! After all, I have never won this much money before just for shopping! Now I can look at my husband, point to the check and say "Look how much money I won just by shopping! Don't you think I should do more?!"
