Previously on 2/19/09, I went into the store to buy some cookies. After I had left, I proceeded to eat my cookies and right away I notice that the cookies taste bad. It made me ill. I looked at the expiration date and that is when I notice it was dated to expire last year around August. I went back to the store and ask if the Owner would taste one of these cookies, of course he refused and I then explain to him how the cookie made me sick because it was old. He did give my money. Back. But please be aware that this is not the first time this has happen to me. I remember purchasing candy bars that was extremely old looking, only having to return the merchandise. My son attends a private school in Ruffin, which is why I travel to Ruffin, and this is the only store for miles in that community. On 3/10/09. I stopped by the store to purchase a cake and a candy bar. This time I ask the owner what was the expiration date before I purchased it to save time and trouble if I had to return back to the store. He became very angry and threw me out of his store and banned me from every coming back. I am upset by this incident because I was treated unfairly and spoken to in a very rude matter. My com[plaint is that we trust that when we buy something from a store, that our well being is taken into consideration of being able to purchase fresh up to date products. I should not be talk to rudely or be banned from a store because of the owner"S lack of responsibility to provide up to date products.
