This is to inform all people who travel down to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. The company Burroughs and Chapin who own most of Myrtle Beach real estate and are the developers of the Grande Dunes and the Marina " Mold" Inn are ripping off consumers who stay at the Marina " Mold " Inn and who own there like myself. After being forced to close on a condo unit that I refused to close on for over $500,000.00 because of damages and was then told I would lose a very large down payment, I dicovered large amounts of mold through out the Marina " MOLD " Inn. My 3 year old son became very ill and after tests were done, it was determined that mold was from the ground floor all the way to the top and cover-ups were already underway.
I first discovered the mold when Burroughs and Chapin refused to let me in my own unit and changed my key. I was told by security that warrenty work was being conducted and I was not aloud in my condo. After making a deal with security, he let me in for 5 minutes telling me he knew nothing. I get into my condo and discover that walls were taken down and being replaced without any notice to me. I was later told it was an oversight. It turns out they did this to numerous units and failed to tell any owners. The lies continued and cover-up after cover-up telling thier employees, if they spoke to me they would be fired.
I have been going through this since august and from what I understand, workers are sick from mold exposure and I heard that after Senator John Mc Cain stayed at the MARINA " MOLD "INN during his presidential run, became very Ill with respiratory problems, but thats just hearsay. The stem of the problem is a faulty HVAC system from what workers told me, and Burroughs and Chapin refuse to let an engineer in to confirm that. They refuse that there is any problem and tell the workers if they mention anything, they will be fired. This case is in federal court now and is exactly like the " ERIN BROCKOVICH STORY " but with mold.
The cover-up are real and witness's are coming forward because of all the people getting sick. This company is so arrogant, that they lie, cover-up and think nothing about renting the condo's to people and the hotel (which is attached) knowing that this mold can hurt more people. Its all about the money for them.
" CAVIAT EMPTOR " in latin means *Buyer Beware*
This company has no problem selling these units to anyone. Just call the Grande Dunes sales office toll free 1-877-347-2633 they will not disclose the information and if they do, they will say its all repaired or it was an isolated incidence. NOT, I have proof of that.
