Sweepstakes Fraud

It all started in the beginning of Dec. When I was at the Simi Valley Town Center Mall. I was shopping and low and behold they had a sweepstakes for a 2009 Ford Flex (my dream car). I filled out the form completely except the portion that stated my income. To my surprise I was contacted by Pacific Monarch on 1/14 and was told that I had won the Grand Prize (the car) I was excited.

But there were a couple of things I had to do prior to getting my car. I was a little skeptical but listened to the speach anyway. I was told that to claim my prize I had to go to a 90 min. Lecture on a time share then I would be able to collect. I fugured that if I only had to sit through a 90 min. Time share then get my car then it would be worth it. So I was told that I would be getting a phone call with in the hour confirming what day I would be coming and collect my prize.

With in the hour I did receive another phone call but this time from a gentleman. He stated with enthusiasm I was the winner of Grand Prize and congratulated me. But to my dismay it wasn't that easy. He told me to possibly win my car I had to go to the seminar and then I would pull a scratcher ticket from a bucket to win 1 of 5 prizes, one being the car. I had explained that that was not what I was told 1 hour ago.

He stated that I probably misunderstood (which I didn't, if you say "I won" I won) and he would explain everything. He also informed me that to qualify I had to make at least 40K and that is what my form had said. I told him that under no circumstance did I full my income on the form and that meant someone from his company must have filled it out. He stated that was impossible and he didn't know why it was filled out. He went through his own speech and I did decide to go ahead and book an appt. With them (after all I had a 1 in 5 chance to win the car I already was told I won).

The next day came and I received a phone call from Pacific Monarch confirming again I was coming, I told him yes. Every day up until the day I was supposed to go to the seminar they called, after the 2nd day of calls I stopped answering the phone (thank god for caller ID)
The Sat. Before going to the seminar I called my mom to let her know that I supposedly won this car and to collect it I would have to go through all of this bologna.

She then told me that she also won the car plus $500K. They had given her the speech too. But after drilling my mother for 5 min. For her age and income. She finalley told him that she was under 75 years old but her husband had recently lost his job. The gentleman told her flat out "Thank You very much and because you have no income you are disqualified" He then Hung up on my mom. I since have found out that my mother-in-law also won the car! The three of us have 3 different last names they had no clue we were all in the same family.

Needless to say I decided not to go to the seminar it was a BIG SCAM! To this day I still get phone calls from Pacific Monarch, I wonder "did I win money to"?
