Xtreme Chemical Company False Advertisement of product used for demonstration & no product guarantee or refund after 3 days

I had this gentleman come to my door selling this product Xtreme Kleen. He showed me how it cleaned my windows outside with ease (spray on rinse off with water). I thought WOW. Then the caked on brake dust that soap and water and even the best wheel cleaners wouldn't take off, only acid could take it off. Well this so called cleaner took it right off with a spray and a brush. The salesman asked me to smell it because it had not odor and was completely safe for my 3 small children at home and it was safe for the environment. He said I could use it on anything and it would clean it easily. Then we went inside my home and he began cleaning my glass top stove and fridge. It took all spots off and also stops little fingerprints from getting back on them. We all know how many fingerprints our little bundles of joys can leave. I thought this is definitely a perfect product and would make life easier for me and also less cleaning and more time for my children. It seemed to good to be true but it was working right before my eyes. He cleaned a large spot on my carpet that my children poured Kool-Aid on, it worked and took it right out. He cleaned my extremely dirty grout that had never been cleaned in 2 1/2 years; it was back to its original color. Then he cleaned my bathroom sink and said it would repel water; kind of like rain-x does on a windshield. It did just that. He put it on my bathroom mirror and showed me how it allows fog on your mirror to stay off or clear up within seconds. I thought this is great because I don't have a vent in my bathroom. At that point I was sold on this awesome product.

Well when we sat down to go into detail of the product he told me for a gallon is was $70.00 plus a free kit that had a couple of scrub pads spray bottle, and a double head brush. Total of $74.20 with tax. I thought that was a lot but I felt confident it would be the last cleaner I ever bought all in one. The salesman said it replaced dozens of products. "What a savings", I thought. Well I did tell the salesman that me and my children had to go because we were late and we were going on vacation for a couple of weeks. He got his truck driver to bring my gallon at that moment instead of delivering it an hour later. I got the gallon put it on the kitchen counter left for vacation.

We got back 2 weeks later and took the next week getting unpacked and reorganized at home. Then that weekend I went thru and tried cleaning my home. I noticed that every time someone washed their hands in the bathroom sink all the dirt stuck to the sink and wouldn't come off, it was like the protected coating on it was no longer there, it looked like the dirt had stained the sink. I tried to clean it with the Xtreme Kleen again at a dilution of 5:1 it didn't do anything even when I tried to scrub it. This product did not work the same as the guy had demonstrated. The salesman said he was using a dilution of 2:1 so that is what I used on all the same things he demonstrated for me. I then took some extra bottles and made different dilutions that were on the bottle (2:1,5:1,10:1, & 20:1). Needless to say it didn't work the same and it had a medium odor to it. I was extremely disappointed in the rip-off. I even tried using just straight full strength cleaner on the brake dust and it still didn't clean rims on my truck.

I called the company after I read the receipt and of course I couldn't get a refund after the 3 days of the sale. I didn't read the print on the back before I left for vacation and was not told of this refund policy. I was ripped off before I even bought it, I just didn't know it. I thought well if the company really backed their product and believed in it then they would have an extended return/money back policy like at the most of 30 days. No luck. This company sticks with the door-to-door sales federal law of 3 days money back guarantee and nothing more. At least that is what they say. (I have been a past distributor for health food companies and we backed our products with full money back guarantee for 30 days even if the product was used all up, because we believed that the products worked). I told them they could come and get all the bottles of dilution and the rest of the gallon and just give me my money back and that their salesman can use it in his other demonstrations that he does, supposedly using the same exact product and dilution. The lady tried to give me other suggestions and to try all different other dilutions. I did tell her I tried other dilutions that the bottle said. She told me that I was refusing to use her suggestions and that there was nothing she could help me with. There was this woman answering the phones for the company; she is the only person answering the phones in customer service; that said she uses this product in her home everyday and she said she loves it and it surely works, I asked her if she wanted to buy it from me and she said no. That tells me a lot right there. She said that the company has thousands of reorders every month and they have a refund rate of 5% at the most of their sales every month. This might be because of the short time in refund days.

I spoke with some neighbors and found out that I was not the only one duped by this Xtreme Kleen product. I also had a person that didn't buy the product because the salesman wouldn't agree to give him his bottle of the product diluted and just replace it with some of the unopened product that the salesman was selling. This was a smart idea, if I would have thought of this then I wouldn't have bought it either. The salesman's bottle was less than half full at that moment when he was at my home. This just shows that it is a rip off.

My advice for this situation is that if the salesman or company doesn't offer an extended money back guarantee past the federal law time then its not worth it. Also if the salesman is not willing to trade out his bottle of used product for a new bottle of the so called same product but a fuller bottle, then this is a scam. Beware of this false product and advertising technique.
