This young man came to my door and impressed me with his bottle of cleaning solution. He wanted to sell me a quart for $40 or a gallon for $70. He let me take his bottle inside and use it on my grout. I was impressed.
However, I told him to come back when my wife was home so she could check it out. He became insistent that I order the product. I asked if he could leave me his business card, he said he had already given all of them out a few days earlier; then I asked if he could leave me the pamphlet of the cleaning product; again, he said it was his only one. I did get the name of the product and the and the address off of the bottle. I told him I was interested in buying the product but I wanted to just verify the company and research some consumer reports first. As soon as I said that the guy took off!
I then researched it on usacomplaints.com and am GLAD I did. Apparently the product they give you is nothing like what they demonstrate. I quickly called my neighbors and told them to not open the door to this guy or buy the product he was selling.
Don't let people force you into buying things or guilt-trip you; if they are legit, they should have no problem with you investigating their product and getting back to you later.
