I too have been "had" by these cheats. My ex and I had a small company... Didn't need a credit card machine but we allowed ourselves to be bribbed into one. We divorced in 2007 and when he resigned from our small company, I needed to transfer the lease from his name to mine (court orders).
I have contacted MBF many times. They say to transfer the lease there is a $100 fee that they must receive before they will send transfer paperwork. Further, the account status must be current.
So, whose fault is it I ask that the payments were not being drawn from the account on time keeping it current when they were being automatically drawn by MBF every month? Not mine for sure!!!
So, I have been in a vicious cycle with these people of setting up payment arrangements, a series of two or three payments each time, to bring the account current so they will process my $100 check I sent them long ago and send me the paperwork. The first payment in the series is drawn on time and for the amount authorized and then the last one or two are drawn later than authorized and for almost double the amount authorized.
I have disputed these unauthorized amounts and the bank send them back and reverses the overdraft fees their neglience causes me but what a pain in the...!
I quit setting up arrangements with them. Like many others, I have had to change bank account numbers. When our small company closed, MBF just helped themselves to my personal account that happened to be at the same bank... I never gave them that information.
Back to my divorce... I got the company liabilities so since MBF is being so negligent in their actions, the lease transfer is not happening and not releasing my ex from the liability. They are dinging his credit like crazy. He is not supposed to be harmed by the company debts so guess where I am likely going soon thanks to MBF... The courtroom to get more charges brought against me from the ex for not handling this MBF debt.
Well, I am handling it the best I can with a farse of a company. What is their address anyway? I have received letters from South Dakota, New York, Illinois... Statements that I was getting had so many different amounts on them I am not sure they know what is due.
I am definately looking in to where else to file claims and would love to be part of a class action against them.
