I asked for $40.00 cash back after purchasing $176.00 in groceries and was given 2 $10.00 bills and 1 $20.00 bill. I left the store without examining the moeny and went to another place of business and was told that the moeny was taped together and counterfeit. I returned to the store and they ran survellanece tapes to determine if I had been in the store 30 minutes earlier and determined that I had been in the store, money was given to me, but they said that they couldn't prove that they gave me the bad money. They said that their policy prohibits them from giving out torn money, let alone counterfeit. They asked me to either go to the police or call the manager the next day to report the incident. If everytime someone hands them money they check it it for authenticity, why then was I given a taped up, counterfeit bill. I cried all the way home because I'm a single mother and money is very precious to our survival. I have since calmed down, but I wanted the world to know that a franchise as large as Ultra Foods is capable of giving out "bad money" and never taking accountability for it. The flat out robbed me and they won't give me my money for it.
