A telephone call was received asking if we were interested in joining a membership that would save money on travel expenses. We assured the organization that we were not interested. Though they were persistent, they finally complied.
4On March 18 I noticed that $109.95 was deducted from our bank account balance by MWI Simple Escapes with only a 800 telephone number. This deduction was unauthorized and we had no idea the purpose for the deduction.
I called the 800 number but was unable to speak to a representative. I continued to call until I finally was able to speak to a person. I was told that a benefit package would be coming in the mail and that we had signed up for this after ordering something via the television.
Neither myself nor my husband has ever made any purchases via the television.
I sternly let them know my displeasure and was assured that I would be cancelled from the account and the money would be returned to my account. However, It would take several months to receive the reinstatement of the amount.
We cannot afford the delay as this deduction affects amounts available to pay bills and living expenses for the family.
