I have an American Express Blue Credit Card that I do not carry with me & I've never made a purchase with. I used the card solely to transfer a credit card balance to because it had a low for life interest rate. There is no way someone could have obtained the credit card number for my card because as I said, I don't carry it with me & I've never made a purchase of any kind with it.
In October I noticed a charge on this bill, which stood out like a sore thumb because there's never any charges on it. I immediately called American Express and disputed the charge, which was reversed by them. I assumed that was the end of it & assumed it was a fluke. I received my credit card statement for January and there's another charge from Bibit on there, this time for more than the previous charge from October.
Again, I immediately called American Express to dispute this charge. I explained to their rep that this same entity had made an unauthorized charge using my card number in Oct. 2008 & that charge was reversed by AmEx. The rep recommended my card be cancelled & a new card issued due to this company placing another charge on my account. I agreed. I have no idea how someone got my credit card number. It makes no sense.
