I received a check in the amount of $3,405 to be a "mystery shopper" for WalMart's Money Gram service. With this money, I was to send a money gram transfer in the amount of $2,950 to Donna Johnson, Windsor, Ontario Canada and pay the service charge of $105; go on a $100 shopping spree in WalMart and my salary for this assignment would be $250. I called the number in League City, TX and spoke to a woman who became rather perplexed when I asked her if this is a legitimate business and if they are registered with the Better Business Bureau, which I had already checked out.
The old adage: "If it seems too good to be true, it usually is" is certainly true in this case. Beware.
