Same story here, 2 guys came to my door on sunday evening 11/30/08 selling magazine subscriptions. Said they even sent care packages to our troops and to the childrens hospital. I wrote 2 checks for $81.00 each. After all was said and done, i looked at the reciepts and none of the information was correct. The amounts on the reciepts were $50, $58, $66, and $15.00 fee. That was on both reciepts. No mention of the checks I wrote. So i sent in the cancellation forms the very next morning. Guess what, they cashed my checks. I tried calling them and the first time the recording said phones were updating for 1 week. So i emailed them several times. Then I called a few days later and the recording said the phones were updating for 2 weeks. I filed a police report, and when i looked at the images of the checks, it had an account number and someones drivers license number. I gave that info to the detective. Beware these people are good!!!
