Be wary of this immigration attorney. I consulted with her and she asked for a retainer fee. I wrote a check and asked for a receipt and she refused to issue one. She said it was not needed. So I should have canceled the check but thought well she's an attorney, she's here to help. She did not do anything and cashed my $2,000 check and all she wrote me was a letter advising me about a new law. I asked if I get a refund since she never did anything and justified that her research cost her $2,000, but since she never issued a receipt, all I had was proof she cashed the check.
I went to an attorney in New York and he gave me step by step letter and receipts for every move he made and everything was documented and actually did something, fixed my paperwork and not just take my money.
