I received a call tonight from Portfolio Recovery Associates about a bill from 1996 that was charged off, she said "That's what happens when you don't pay your bills" which I had filed bankruptcy. I found this laughable at first, the caller from the company was rude. I explained the bankruptcy I had filed, I suppose they didn't think I had the paperwork handy, which I did.
She indicated alot of times that people think a creditor is listed but they are not and that I needed to make sure or I would be responsible. She was very disruptive and it was difficult to get a word in. She then put a Supervisor on the phone and then gave me the run around about the paperwork that people don't see the correct things to look for.
One thing that was strange was that she said they would be sending me a dispute package in a "BLUE ENVELOPE" without a name on it. She said I had to fill out all of this to get this debt cleared up, I told her as far as I'm concerned the U.S. Bankruptcy Court already cleared this up long ago.
