I feel sorry for these employees!

I went to this great clips for my usual trimming, and I just happened to overhear an interview going on. This was not easy to ignore due to the fact the door to the office where it took place was left open. I thought this was unusual.

Anyway, The woman who was conducting the interview was asking typical questions until I heard hear her say, " we at great clips do not care about building up your clientele, we care about building up great clips clientele!" "We do not let you hand out business cards with your name them, and we expect you to only talk about selling product to the client, not about you or them. We don't care about that! Just our money!"

"You will go to our school where you will learn the basics again, then you will be tested on our technique before you are considered for the job. At that time, you will have a full wardrobe of acceptable clothes of appropriate colors and styles and you will be expected to have a new outfit each week!"

"we also do not want stlyists who come and go so you will have blackout dates when you will not able to unschedule yourself! This includes all holidays, spring breaks, most of the summer and your birthday if it falls under one of these times!"

" We do mainly clipper cuts and we make sure to cut the clients super short like military fades, so they come back within a week!" The applicant asked if they considered themselves a barber shop or a salon. The interviewer replied " Of course we're a barber shop! That is why we are called great clips!" I always thought they called themselves this name because of the clipper ship as the logo! I also noticed that none of the stylists had barber licenses. Only cosmetologist licenses. I thought you need a barber license to cut barber styles!

What she said next was the icing on the cake where I will NEVER come back here!

" I can see on you application that you've been to other salons. What about them did you not like!" How is the applicant supposed to answer that one without sounding like a bad mouther!

At the end of this conversation, The interviewer told the applicant that she didn't feel confident of the applicant and she wasn't going to hire them! I don't think the applicant had a fair interview, and I'm telling everyone I know about how this company treats their staff! If they even make the cut!

How unprofessional!
