OKay so I totally love this website it has saved me alot of money, but when it comes to herbalife there is another scam they use that is not as traditional as the one reported.
I recently lost my job due to my son being ill and was trying to find a legite work from home job/business to suppliment income. I received this magazine in the mail Home Business Connection and figured I would find something there. More than one ad comes back to the same business... Herbalife, but you don't recognize it first. The scam I was witness to did not involve a dvd being sent to me. I was never asked for $9.95 up front either. At first I had a mentor call me and ask for me to look at this website hardly anything was said except for me to take notes of interesting points and to write down questions I may have. I watched this corney video and then read 23 pages of how the company has been successfull for so long. Page 20 was a print off page where I answered some questions and wrote down 6 goals I had for my future. I was then directed to call my mentor back after I had to listen to a corney audio. I called my mentors back Joe and Traci Halbmaier and he asked me about my life and why I wanted to work from home etc. I informed him right then and there that I did not have $2-300 to just throw away on a whim and that I was looking for something legit. Finally after chatting for about 20 minutes... He said he wanted me to listen to a recording... Same people different sales pitch... He then came back onto the line and said he wanted to tell me about his life.
He told me about his wife and how she had college bills and her corporate company was laying off and how they joined for supplimental income to fall back on. Then he said how after 6 months she was able to quite her job and they have been working herbalife fulltime... Then comes the catch. For $299 I could have a $250 package of meds for me and my family a DVD to educate me on the program, tools to use (have no clue what they are) and international application so that I can sell the product anywhere in the world. That they had quarterly live training seminars I could attend and mentors would always be there to train me. And for an additional $19.95 a month (which he insisted was mandatory) I would have more than a website, but a whole team backing me in my success and it even included dropshipping to my customers. They included web advertising as well.
Being the skeptic I am and living by the *too good to be true, probably is* motto I asked how could I know that I would get that money back, and how soon could I expect it back??? I was told I would receive my first check within 72 hours.in other words he told me... And yes I repeated it all back for clairty, that I would get all my money back within 72 hours and then some. I would make more money in a month than most people do in a year.
WOW money, money, money... Yeah... Well I investigated herbalife and thus found the websites that tell you the crookedness of it. I specifically asked him was it homebased, or was there a lot of legwork involved... Would I be heckling my friends and family. He more or less avoided this question and stated it all depended on how successfull I wanted to be, but that yes some leg work was involved. Upon my investigation I have found that 90% is leg work... You are required to hand out thousands of flyers, hang up tacky signs and wear goofy buttons to promote it all... The meds also contain ephidrine which is being banned in a ton of places and taken out of alot of meds because of the side effects, but Joe says it's safe for children... Pfff I think not!!! In short... I was not scammed today, but maybe this will help enlighten someone and keep you from see all the $ and see the truth... It did sound tempting though... I must admit!
