To anybody that is trying to rent a house in Spokane Washington beware of the landlord Jack Garrison who will try to rent or sale the property at 527 East Broad Spokane Washington 99207.
This man i rented from and he promised that the house would be fixed up and all. The man waited for 2 in half years to even bother to start painting the house and then he and his worker broke half of my dishes and a window out by hammering new siding to the house.
When spokane had the earth quakes it cracked walls and ceilings and i had pointed this out to him and he never did fix these problems, their for the house is unsafe it will cave in if not fixed. The heat in the house you can turn up to 90 and it is cold still it is hotter outside the house than inside and the bill will run you about 300 dollars a month. I went him about this problem and he was to cheap to install another furnace i paid this man 550.00 a month for this place plus paid water, garbage and light bills that came up to over a thousand dollars a month.
When he used the water outside for his personal use he did not bother to pay for it. It got to the point that he demanded that i park my car out on the street because i was not allowed to use my drive way when this happen the neighbor's next store tore out their drive way and hit my car and wrecked it, which i still have not gotten paid for it and he did not offer anything to me, when he told me to park on the street.
This man had his nerves to claim taxes at the end of year on my water bill which he did not pay a damn dime for. This is outrageous and how in the hell can he do that. Then had his nerves to say that he would not sale the house and then he turned around after he painted it and said he was going to sale this year, well come august he went to somebody (said it was his attorney) and gave me a ten day notice and then when i moved out (august) he still thought i was going to give him the money for august, he was out of his mind or just plain crazy.
I drive by the house weekly and it is just sitting there with no rent sign or for sale sign and to top it off we were the only colored family living in the entire block and we were constantly discriminated against by the neighbors that had hit my car.
So beware of this landlord and don't rent from him or trust him. There was a month were he went to california for two months and tried to demand the rent for these months in advance so he could have some spending money.
I told him i don't think so and that was that. He agreed that rent will be do on the tenth of the month and would constantly call me at the end of the month of every month but nothing was not getting repaired. Then he tried to bill me for three broken windows when he broke two of them himself when he was hammering the siding to the house and really the third window was blown out by the wind because it was not installed correctly. This man is just a crooked and nobody she rent from him or buy property from him..
